On a walk in the Phobjikha Valley, houses were adorned with the phallus, a ubiquitous symbol of fertility (among other things) in Bhutan that can be seen painted on buildings, carved from stone in Buddhist temples, and as wood carvings hanging above doorways and under eaves.
