This bike represents innovation and creativity in the pursuit of going faster. The original pilot was Sam Satterley (“Slidin’ Sammy during his dirt track days). Sammy was known as the “Arkansas Traveler”. In his memory, owner Cabana Dan Rognsvoog rechristened the bike “The Arkansas Traveler.” Rumor has it that Sam went to Lynwood, California during or after his flat track career, and built this bike. It’s a survivor and you see it as it was campaigned in the 1960’s. Dan refreshed the motor, having kept the historic integrity of the bike. Photographed by Michael Lichter in Sturgis, SD.
