Add to Cart Add to Lightbox“Nesstique” was originally built in 1978 by the late Arlen Ness, and started as a Harley-Davidson Sportster. While Arlen is no longer with us to tell the story, it was well recorded how he had been inspired to build an antique looking modern custom after winning the 1st place trophy in the 1977 Harley-Davidson ride-in show. The trophy, a jewelry quality silver model of Harley’s original 1903 H-D motorcycle, so impressed Arlen that he was inspired the following year to build a new custom based on it that would be very light, skinny and completely different. While in the years since, this has become a popular motif amongst builders, Arlen had never seen it done before “Nesstique”. Photographed by Michael Lichter WHERE.
