A six-pointed star associated with Judaism as the Star of David, is also an ancient Buddhist symbol. Seen here at Swayambhunath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site also known as the Monkey Temple. The stupa, which is said to be 2,000 years old, is the most sacred Buddhist site for Newari Buddhists in Nepal. Surrounded by Hindu temples, it is a rare instance of two religions being in harmony with each other. Kathmandu, Nepal. Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Photography ©2024 Michael Lichter.
